Dubai Desert Safari Packages: Which One Is Right for You?
Dubai Desert Safari Packages: Which One Is Right for You?
Blog Article
Picking a safari should be the easy part of your trip. But with so many Dubai desert safari packages to choose from, it's easy to feel lost. Should you go VIP? Is the Hummer worth it? Do you need a quad bike? We answer all of those questions below, in plain English.
At Dubai Safari Desert, we run trips all year round, from short morning rides to full nights in the desert. Here's how each package compares, so you can decide in a few minutes.
How to Choose in Three Steps
Before you look at prices, think about three things:
• How much time do you have: a morning, an evening or a whole night?
• Do you want to drive yourself, or sit back and be driven?
• Is comfort important, or are you happy with the standard camp?
Once you know the answers, the right package is usually obvious.
The Evening Packages
The evening is the most popular time to go. You get golden light on the dunes, a sunset stop and dinner with shows after dark. Every evening trip runs from roughly 2 PM to 9 PM.

What Every Trip Has in Common
Whichever package you pick, a few things stay the same. Our camps follow a traditional Bedouin style, with low seats, warm lighting and lots of room. Dinner has both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. We confirm your pickup and drop-off 24 hours before the trip, so you're never left waiting and wondering.
We also offer an Abu Dhabi desert safari for AED 140, and city tours of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Hatta, if you want to explore more of the country.
An Evening in the Desert, Step by Step
The trip starts with a pickup from your hotel in the early afternoon. Once the city is behind you, the road turns to sand. The driver lets some air out of the tyres, and then the dune bashing starts. The 4x4 climbs each dune, tips over the top and slides down the other side. It's a bumpy ride, but most people love it.
Next, you stop on a high dune to watch the sunset. From there, you head to the camp for a camel ride, dinner and live shows. By about 9 PM, you're on your way back to your hotel.
What If I Get Car Sick?
The drivers know these dunes very well and drive them daily. Seatbelts stay on the whole way. If you get car sick, eat a light lunch and ask for the front seat. Pregnant guests, people with back problems and parents with babies should tell us when they book, and we'll help you pick the right trip.
